Himel Das
Profile
HSC Science student. With six teammates (Konatori-135), built a Python
pipeline to reconstruct the π0 invariant mass from sample
CERN BL4S calorimeter data for our proposal, shortlisted among the
global Top 50. Regional Silver Medal, Bangladesh Astronomy Olympiad.

Research & Projects
Built the Python analysis pipeline for the 7-student
Konatori-135 team
(my part: event selection, invariant-mass reconstruction, and fitting;
teammates handled simulation cross-checks and the proposal write-up)
and reconstructed π
0 → γγ from sample calorimeter data across carbon,
aluminium, and lead targets. Our fit gave a
π
0 peak at 135.0 MeV/c
2 and
α = 0.735 ± 0.038 (energy-scale factor from the calibration fit); code at
github.com/hello2himel/bl4s-konatori-135
.
Designed a networked hospital call system using ESP32, OLED displays,
physical call buttons, MQTT/TLS, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL. Prototype
stage: bench-tested with a few devices; designed to scale toward
approximately 100 connected devices.
Leadership & Teaching
Taught physics to Grades 9–10 students, emphasizing physical intuition,
conceptual reasoning, and demonstrations beyond standard classroom materials.
Develops hands-on STEM outreach through SciencePreach for
rural schools and produces Feynman Files, educational
science content focused on intuitive explanations; conducted demonstrations
in Bogura, Sundarbans, and Cox's Bazar using locally sourced materials.
Organized workshops and olympiad training sessions; coordinated school
participation in national competitions; established peer tutoring in
physics and mathematics.
